For the last three weeks, Purple Daisy Clean has been helping a repeat client in St. Albans, WV keep their home fresh and clean with our affordable and flexible $50 Whole Home Refresh service.
This two-hour one-time clean or recurring service focuses first on a thorough cleaning of the kitchen and bathroom, with any remaining time used for other tasks based on the home’s specific needs. A weekly two-hour cleaning is perfect for this client’s needs. With each visit, we’ve gotten the kitchen and bathroom cleaned and then been able to make steady improvements in other areas, removing grime and buildup that had accumulated over time.
Kitchen Deep Clean
During the first visit, we focused on a deep clean of the sink and microwave, both of which had noticeable food buildup and staining.

Scrubbed and sanitized the sink, removing stains and food. The side of the sink not typically used for dishes had food stuck in the drain and noticeable brown build-up, especially toward the front. The food and staining were removed, and the sink was restored to a shiny, fresh appearance:

The microwave was heavily soiled and needed more than a quick wipe down. While deep cleaning the interior isn’t usually included in the $50 Whole Home Refresh, there was still time left after completing the kitchen and bathroom that would typically be used for light cleaning in other areas of the home. Since the remaining time is flexible based on the home’s needs, I used it to give both the interior and exterior of the microwave a thorough clean.
- To complete the kitchen, the counters were wiped, the floors swept and mopped, the rug vacuumed, and the refrigerator front and oven/stovetop exterior were wiped down.

I don’t have B&A pics for the tub yet. This client’s porcelain tub is in a house built in the 1940s, and like many vintage tubs, it had deep surface stains and buildup that standard bathroom cleaners just can’t touch, and that’s all it had been cleaned with since she moved in almost ten years ago to what she says was a stain-free tub. That told me that the staining on her tub likely wasn’t permanent damage. Years of soap scum and hard water had left behind deep discoloration that couldn’t be scrubbed away in one 2-Hour Whole Home Refresh.
All three times I’ve worked on this tub, it’s been part of the 2-Hour Whole Home Refresh — so I’ve had to make smart use of limited time while still making real progress. On the first visit, I cleaned the whole tub, but focused on removing years of soap scum streaks from the shower walls. The second visit took care of the ring around the tub. On the third, I worked on the gray discoloration on the tub floor, and once it fully dried, I was able to see that most of the gray staining was gone. When I go back for a 4th 2-Hour Whole Home Refresh, I should be able to get the last of the staining out of the tub.
Most tubs don’t get stained overnight, and they often don’t get fully restored in just one session either, especially older porcelain tubs with long-term buildup. The buildup may be a decade deep, but I’m confident this tub will shine again. I’ll be sharing the before-and-after transformation soon! -
