Recently, I helped with a move-out cleaning in Dunbar, WV. There were three of us working that day, including the person who hired me. I was brought in for a 2-hour window to assist with the overall cleanup. Once there, my focus became the large ground-floor windows – inside and out.

Deep Cleaning Windows with Care
These weren’t just any windows. Years of buildup had dulled their shine, and in front of the glass was a built-in tiled ledge that extended outward like a seat or display area — possibly used for plants or décor. The tile was delicate, with some pieces already starting to loosen. Because of that, I had to clean with extra care.

I brought my full set of tools and supplies, which turned out to be exactly what was needed. I used a soft cloth to gently clean the tile, and for areas with heavier buildup, I carefully used a scraper to lift the grime without damaging the surfaces. The tile was too delicate to use a tile and grout brush or a scrub brush.
The result? Crystal-clear, streak-free windows that instantly brightened up the space.

A Team Effort for a Smooth Move
After finishing the windows, I also pitched in with general tasks — helping with trash pickup, vacuuming rugs, and tidying up other areas that needed a refresh. Even though I wasn’t the only one cleaning that day, I came fully prepared with my own tools and supplies — and they were definitely put to use.
We even paused partway through for a quick break and were treated to pizza and wings from Gino’s, which was a much-appreciated gesture from the client.
